Compatibility ​

This page records the Instructure UI sources this pantoken build resolves from, and which consumers use them. Target versions are separate: only verified releases are claimed, and releases newer than the last verified release need review. Regenerate it with vp run sync:compatibility; the gate:compatibility check fails if it drifts.

Upstream sources ​

The design tokens, Instructure custom icons, and Lucide catalog feed the resolved token IR that every package consumes. The @instructure/ui-* React packages are used only by @pantoken/react-markdown.

Reviewing target releases ​

The weekly target-release workflow opens a review issue for new stable WordPress releases and ecosystems with an explicit npm peer. For other targets, maintainers check the platform's official release notes weekly and open a review issue manually; an absent issue does not mean a new release is supported. To extend a claim:

  1. Inspect the release's output schema or integration changes and the adapter in this table.
  2. Run the adapter's compatibility command with the candidate release, for example vp run @pantoken/postcss#check:compatibility -- 8.5.29. The default command reads every testedVersions entry from this registry; paired environments accept their companion flags.
  3. For feed-discovered candidates, use vp run downstream:test; failed attempts are retained in scripts/release/downstream-compatibility.json. After a successful review, run vp run downstream:bless --package @pantoken/name --version x.y.z to update the claim.
  4. Run a real host, compiler, or build-tool check at the minimum and new release. Remap the current output format if necessary; do not add parallel legacy format emitters.
  5. Update scripts/release/target-compatibility.json only after the checks pass, then run vp run sync:compatibility, regenerate English API docs, and add a changeset. Newer releases remain pending until that reviewed change lands. Localized documentation is handled separately.

Deprecations ​

Tokens upstream dropped that pantoken still ships as a compatibility shim. Each is kept working until its Removed in upstream minor is adopted, at which point the shim is retired and a consumer minor is cut. A shim either forwards to a Replacement token or freezes its last-known value.
